The objective of the program is to prepare a Licensed Cosmetologist to become a Barber. The Barbering for Cosmetologists Certificate allows the student who holds a current Master Cosmetology license to receive additional training that will qualify the student to take the examination for Barbering.

The Cosmetology Barber Bridge Program is designed to meet State Board requirements.

The program provides an opportunity for students to learn the manipulative skills and acquire the scientific and technical knowledge necessary to enter the field of barber/styling. Students are to become proficient in the techniques, care, sanitary practices, and safety in using implements and equipment for shaving, hair cutting, shampooing, giving scalp and hair treatments, hair coloring, hair styling, chemical hair relaxing, permanent waving, and facial treatments. Students who complete program requirements receive assistance in completing necessary paperwork for state licensure.
